Arbi Rangkito, born in 1994, in Solok Selatan, West Sumatra, is an artist currently based in Yogyakarta. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts Faculty at the Indonesia Arts Institute Yogyakarta. Through the simplicity of his artistic compositions, his works aim to encourage the audience to discover a personal resonance by reflecting their own life experiences. Rangkito’s commitment to artistic excellence has been recognised on a national and international level. He has exhibited extensively in collaboration with Redbase. At Redbase Foundation Yogyakarta, he held a solo exhibition “The Wandering Soul” (2021) and participated in a group show “Walking in the Rythm” (2019), whereas at Redbase Art Sydney, he had a solo show “Mind n Eyes” (2022) and took part in two group shows: “Underline” (2023) and “Redbase Diaries #22” (2022). His works are also included in the “Tanda Mata” collection of Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta (2019) and presented in Aotearoa Art Fair (2023). Notable highlight of his achievement is being a finalist in the prestigious Indonesia UOB Painting of the Year competition (2017).
