Anusapati born in Surakarta, Indonesia, September 1957. He graduated and got a bachelor of Fine Art at “ASRI” College Yogyakarta (1983) Drs (BFA) and continued studying at School of Art and Design, Pratt Institute, New York, USA. MFA, (1990). Until now, Ninus is listed as one of the administrators of the Indonesian Sculptors Association (API) and serves as head of development and programs. API members currently number 143 people, which is an indicator that the profession of sculptor is quite popular.
Anusapati is known for his strong conceptual approach to sculpture, often working with materials that carry symbolic and cultural weight. His works frequently explore the relationship between material, memory, and place—rooted in Indonesia’s natural environment and history. Through wood, stone, and metal, Anusapati questions the tension between permanence and transformation, tradition and contemporary reflection.
Anusapati recent works have been featured in “Veranda Contemporary Exhibition” Group Exhibition at Redbase Foundation Indonesia, Yogyakarta (2016), The highlight of his solo exhibition at OFCA International, Sarang Building Yogyakarta – Indonesia, at Sin Sin Fine Art, Hong Kong, at Sangkring Artspace Yogyakarta – Indonesia, and at Galeri Mon Décor Jakarta - Indonesia.
