Dita was born in Jakarta, 1986. She graduated with Bachelor of Fine Art degree majoring in Sculpture from Institut Teknologi Bandung and Master of Art degree majoring Production Design for Film & Television from Kingston University, London.
Dita artistic practice explores the complexities of contemporary urban life through the lens of a young woman navigating cultural intersections. Her signature use of braided hair interwoven with fashion references, irony, and wit serves as a metaphorical device to question social norms. These objects, both playful and unsetting, reflect ambiguities around love, domesticity, and marriage, while also suggesting doubt and contradiction. Positioned between her traditional cultural background and the globalized urban experience, her works articulate the layered tensions of modern identity shaped by East and West.
Her works have been featured in several exhibitions like her solo exhibition, at Forme Building; the group exhibition, “(un)usual” at Redbase Foundation Indonesia, Yogyakarta (2015), Indonesian National Gallery, and One East Asia, Singapore.
She also received an award from Bandung Contemporary Art Award, Lawang Wangi (2011).
