Dedy Shofianto was born on December 15th, 1991 in Jambi, Indonesia. Lives and works in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree majoring in Fine Arts, Indonesian Institute of Fine Arts, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. 
Shofianto practice explores themes of transformation in the natural world, often drawing inspiration from organic forms, insects, and the cycles of life and decay. His works employ a diverse range of materials and techniques, resulting in sculptural and installation based pieces that evoke both familiarity and existential themes.

Shofianto has presented two solo exhibitions to date “Evolution” at Redbase Foundation Indonesia, Yogyakarta (2016), “Pamor” at Langgeng Art Foundation, Yogyakarta (2019) and “Song of Rhinoceros Beetles” at Kinetic Art Tirana House. His works also have been featured in several exhibitions, such as at Art Jakarta, National Gallery of Indonesia, Grey Art Gallery, Jogja Gallery, Taman Budaya Yogyakarta, and many more. 

Shofianto also received several awards such as, “Young Rising Artist Award” at “Nandur Srawung #7” (2020), “Young Artist Award” at Redbase Foundation (2016), and First Prize in Craft Prototype Design Competition at the 26th Yogyakarta Arts Festival (FKY) in 2014.
