ARTIST BIO

 Najib Ahmad was born in 1987 in Muar, Johor, Malaysia. He received both his Diploma and Bachelor's degree in Fine Art (Painting) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), studying in Melaka and Shah Alam.
His artistic practice often explores themes of survival, migration, and displacement, particularly in relation to the urban and social conditions of contemporary Malaysia. His visual language incorporates figures, animals, and natural motifs to reflect on personal and political narratives. 

In 2016, he participated in a group exhibition titled “Rising Length of Light” with Redbase Contemporary Art at Artotel Jakarta, Indonesia. 

Najib has held solo exhibitions such as Great Migration (Taksu, Kuala Lumpur, 2012) and Survival (Taksu, Singapore, 2015). He was featured in group exhibitions including Art Gwangju in South Korea (2016), and S.U.A.R.A.S.A. 3 at Segaris Art Centre in Kuala Lumpur (2014).
