Meng Liping, known as Meng Meng, was born in 1981 in Yantai, Shandong Province, China. A graduate of Shandong Laiyang Normal School's Fine Arts Department in 2000, Meng Meng currently resides and works in Beijing. Meng Meng’s artistic practice explores the intricate relationship between the external world and the elusive nature of symbols. By creating a tension between the known and the unknown, Meng Meng seeks to evoke feelings of hysteria and vertigo that permeate our experiences. This sense of disorientation reflects the ongoing struggle to comprehend both the self and the myriad signs that populate our surroundings.
