ARTIST BIO

Zoe Li was born in 1995 in China and is a new media artist now based between Guangzhou and Sydney. She earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in Digital Art from Pratt Institute, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Computational Media and Arts at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Her practice spans robotics, video, and installation, delving into themes of identity, intergenerational memory, and emotional disconnection in the digital age. With irony and absurdity, Zoe examines how technology shapes selfhood, communication, and systems of power, encouraging viewers to reconsider their place within these structures.

In 2025, she held her solo exhibition Contactless Contact at Redbase Art Sydney.

Her work has also been shown in major international venues including the Beijing and Wuhan Biennales, Macao International Art Biennale, and exhibitions in New York, Shanghai, and Macau—alongside presentations at events like xCoAx, TEI, and the SIGGRAPH Art Gallery  Zoe has been honored with an Honorary Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica for Interactive Art and received Second Prize at the ACME Awards
