Alfi Nur Laila was born in 1994 is a contemporary artist based in Kediri, East Java. She graduated and got a bachelor of Craft, Indonesian Art Institute of Yogyakarta (2018).
Alfi’s work is an attempt to understand textiles and threads as more than utilitarian objects, they are explored as mediums of artistic expression. Her practice positions fiber not only as material but as mediums of artistic expression. This approach places her within the realm of fiber art, a discipline that utilizes natural or synthetic fibers as a medium for individual artistic expression.
Alfi's recent works have been featured at “Redefining Chapter” Group Exhibition at Redbase Foundation, Yogyakarta (2019), and at UPT Gallery of Indonesian Art Institute of Yogyakarta, also at Craft Department of Indonesian Art Institute of Yogyakarta.
