Rosit Mulyadi, also known as Ocid, was born in 1988 in Bantul, Indonesia. He studied painting at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta, after spending his early education in an Islamic boarding school where he was first introduced to art through Arabic calligraphy.
Rosit Mulyadi’s artistic practice explores the chaotic dynamics of social media and contemporary digital culture. His works depict modern media as a contested space where power, truth, and morality often collide. Incorporating text and satirical quotes, he employs irony and parody to critique the blurred lines between fact and fiction in the digital era. His visual language reflects both personal history and cultural commentary, rooted in everyday observation.
In 2019, he participated in the group exhibition Redefining Chapter at Redbase Foundation, Yogyakarta. His works have also been exhibited at Artspace@Helutrans, Jogja National Museum, Studio Kalahan, UoB Plaza Jakarta, and Langit Art Space, Yogyakarta.
We pay our respects to the Gundungurra people who are the traditional custodians of the land. We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging for their immense spiritual connection to place which was never ceded.
