Purnomo Clay was born in 1982 and currently resides in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He is a graduate of the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI), Yogyakarta, and is an artist actively engaged in contemporary ceramic art in Indonesia.
He chooses objects from everyday life that are popular and aesthetic, such as shoes, and is known as a pioneer artist in ceramic shoe models.
He participated in the group exhibition titled “REDEFINING CHAPTER” at Redbase Foundation in 2019.
Purnomo has taken part in numerous art exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at Nalla Roepa, Tahunmas Artroom Kasongan, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Element by Westin Bali Ubud, Galeri LORONG Yogyakarta, and in Laren, the Netherlands.
We pay our respects to the Gundungurra people who are the traditional custodians of the land. We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging for their immense spiritual connection to place which was never ceded.
