Kalya Risangdaru graduated from English Literature, Binus University in 2017. Her passion in painting started when she was a kid, watching his father and mother sketch and paint on papers and canvases. Her works mostly cover issues she’s interested in and think about a lot such as feminism, relations, mental illness and society judgements. She mostly uses watercolor and gouache on paper/plywood to express her art. She’s now currently working on her newest personal project called “Mekar”. A wearable medium (scarf) to help people embrace their self-love through all the difficulties nowadays society offers. She has been participating in various art exhibition like; Mini Art Malang by Studio Dinding Luar (2024), Kartini Nyeni by Senyawa ArtSpace (2024), Art Jakarta Scene 2023, Jakarta, 2023, with Museum dan Tanah Liat booth (2023), Jogja Affordable Art #2 (2023), Festival Kesenian Yogyakarta 2022 (2022), Untuk Seorang Lelaki yang Demikian Mencintai Hujan; ode to Gunawan Maryanto (2022), Eyes of Matrix at Redbase Foundation Yogyakarta (2018), and many more.
