Iqi Qoror was born in 1984. He graduated with Bachelor of Industrial Design degree from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November Surabaya (ITS) and graduated with Master of Fine Art degree from Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta.
His artistic practice explores the complexities of trust and modernity, shaped by his personal social experiences. Qoror sees the world as a chaotic space, and his works are a form of response to an emotional scream framing critical questions about human madness. Embracing charcoal as his primary medium, Qoror merges his childhood passion for drawing with his current practice by blending charcoal and paint, symbolizing a union between past and present in creating future narratives.
In 2018, Iqi Qoror participated in the group exhibition “Forms Of Diversity” at Redbase Foundation.
Qoror has been involved in numerous group exhibitions in Indonesia and abroad, Artplex Gallery, Los Angeles, California, Hatch Art Project, Singapore, and many more.
We pay our respects to the Gundungurra people who are the traditional custodians of the land. We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging for their immense spiritual connection to place which was never ceded.
