I Nyoman Masriadi was born in 1973 in Giayar, Bali, Indonesia. He graduated from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI), Yogyakarta.
Masriadi is considered one of the most prominent painters in Southeast Asia and a leading voice in Indonesian contemporary art, particularly in the post Suharto era. His works often critique social norms, politics, and identity through bold, muscular characters and striking narratives. Fusing popular culture with personal reflections, Masriadi’s paintings are both humorous and profound, positioning him as a powerful storyteller of modern life in Indonesia.
In 2015, Masriadi participated in a group exhibition “Base’RED’”,at Redbase Foundation.
Masriadi has been involved in numerous group exhibitions in Indonesia and abroad, Hofstra University Museum, New Jersey, USA, Kasmin Gallery, New York, USA, the Singapore Art Museum, and many more.
