Fachrozi Amri was born in 1985 in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. He graduated with a Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Photography from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta.
Fachrozi’s artistic practice revolves around analog photography and the expressive potential of negative film. Rather than developing into traditional prints, his work explores the conceptual and material dimensions of the photographic process itself. His experiments reflect a broader inquiry into perception, temporality, and unseen narratives embedded within everyday imagery.
In 2019, he participated in the group exhibition Redefining Chapter at Redbase Foundation Indonesia, Yogyakarta.
Alongside his artistic practice, Fachrozi is also active as a curator and educator. He has curated numerous exhibitions across Riau, including at Hang Nadim Gallery and the Riau Art Council.
We pay our respects to the Gundungurra people who are the traditional custodians of the land. We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging for their immense spiritual connection to place which was never ceded.
