Dedy Maryadi was born in Yogyakarta on August 10, 1981. He graduated from the Fine Art department at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta.
Maryadi explores artistic concepts through a variety of materials such as iron, wood, concrete, resin, and other mixed media. His sculptural practice reflects a deep engagement with materiality and form, often infused with symbolic meaning. Social issues ranging from inequality and urbanization to cultural displacement are central to his artistic exploration, which he presents through strong visual narratives and structural experimentation. His works frequently serve as commentary on the relationship between individuals and their environments, encouraging viewers to reflect critically on contemporary life.
In 2019, Maryadi participated in a group exhibition “Wasiat” at Redbase Foundation Indonesia.
Maryadi has been involved in numerous group exhibitions both in Indonesia and internationally, including UOB Painting of the Year, Bangkok Triennale International, Sanamchandra Art Gallery, and Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Thailand.
