Desy Gitary, born 26th june, 1980 in Lampung. Bachelor of communication, Universitas Prof Dr.Moestopo (B), Jakarta. Previously, Desy was a journalist, news anchor, script writer, yet writing still on her things now. As a self-taught visual artist. Most of Desy works (paper, canvas, and video) talks about characters, dreams, and strugglings journey. She puts a lot of layers and also a lot of short lines into her work, representing the complexity of mind and feeling. Since 2016 Desy has three solo exhibition. 07:00 at Ruang Dalam Art House, Yogyakarta, 2016. Beyond, at Syang Art space, Magelang, 2018. Zone: out of comfort, at Redbase Foundation, Jogjakarta, 2021. And some group show in Indonesia, India, Copenhagen, Sydney. Last but not least, Desy also do art video.
