Danni Febriana

ARTIST BIO

Danni Febriana,  a visual artist based on Yogyakarta. Born in 1993, Cilacap, Central Java. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Semarang State University. His practice bridges memory, emotional landscapes, and the volcanic geography of Mount Merapi, which serves as a recurring symbolic axis in his work. Working primarily in charcoal and acrylic, Febriana creates monochromatic compositions defined by texture, silence, and restrained movement. Reducing colour to near-absence, he uses light, shadow, and ash-like surfaces to evoke geological pressure and psychological tension, suggesting states of vulnerability, endurance, and transformation. His works often function as meditative reflections on personal and collective memory.

Febriana has held two solo exhibitions: Monochrome, Breeze Art in collaboration with Artemist Gallery KL, Tangerang (2020), and Hening Diantara, Semarang State University(2016). He has participated in exhibitions at the National Gallery of Indonesia, Museum Basoeki Abdullah, Sangkring Art Space, and Redbase Foundation; as well as internationally at Art Stage Singapore and the BAMA Art Fair in Busan. He is a two time Gold Winner of the UOB Painting of the Year Award, receiving recognition in the Emerging Artist Category (2018) and Established Artist Category (2020).
