Artist in Residence #8
Ida Lawrence is an Indonesian-Australian visual artist who explores the stories behind objects, whether real or imagined. Her first artist residency and solo exhibition took place at Tembi Rumah Budaya in 2012. Since then, she has held ten solo exhibitions and participated in residencies in Japan, Malaysia, and Australia. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions such as the 15th Asian Art Biennale (National Academy of Fine and Performing Arts, Dhaka, Bangladesh) and Sculpture by the Sea (Sydney, Australia). Although she typically resides in Sydney, Australia, she lived in Yogyakarta from 2010 to 2013.
