Citra Sasmita, born in 1982 in Indonesia, graduated from the Physics Department at Ganesha University of Education in Bali. Her artistic practice is deeply focused on women's issues. As a Balinese woman navigating a patriarchal culture, she critiques the system that has historically marginalized and shaped women's identities. Through her rich use of symbolic visual language, Sasmita addresses themes of identity, stigma, and sexuality, often depicted through the female body.
