Teguh Sariyanto

ARTIST BIO

Teguh Sariyanto was born in 1996 in Bantul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He is currently studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta.

Teguh Sariyanto works across various media including painting, printmaking, sculpture, found objects, and installation. His artistic practice revolves around observing and transforming ordinary objects—such as stains, stones, or tree branches—into new visual interpretations. By emphasizing deformation, color, and composition, he reimagines overlooked forms into works that invite open-ended reflection. For Teguh, art-making is a deeply heartfelt and intuitive process, drawing inspiration from his immediate surroundings and everyday encounters.

In 2019, he participated in the group exhibition Macam-macam at Redbase Foundation, Yogyakarta. His works have also been shown in exhibitions such as  at Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta, Pendhapa Art Space, and Jogja National Museum.
