ARTIST BIO

Yudha ‘Fehung’ Kusuma Putera was born in 1987, Magelang, Indonesia. He is a multi-disciplinary artist and mainly use photography as a medium. Fehung live and work in Yogyakarta – Indonesia, graduated from Indonesia Institute of the Arts in 2012 with a major in Photography. He frequently make collaborative works by offering an idea to participants or collaborators to be discuss and then they negotiate to create a photography-based works. This negotiation process has change and form the final of his works. For the past few years, Fehung consistently use this participatory and performative method or works that emphasizes the participant’s bodily experience. The concept that appears in his works are always close and intimate based on human relations such as living space, neighbor, children, and family. For Fehung the process of negotiating and constructing conversations is an important process besides the work of photography itself. He has had several solo exhibitions, “Outkick the Coverage” Gallery of Ruang Mes 56, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2013), “Alam Bawah Sadar dalam Staged Photography” Lobby FSMR ISI Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2012), and “Meminjam Mata dan Melihat Ruang” Kedai Kebun Forum Gallery, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2012). His works also have been featured in several group exhibitions, “Unturned Stone, Unclimbed Mountain”, Ruang Mes 56, Artotel, Jakarta, Indonesia (2023), “Rudy’s Story_Rekam Jejak 25 Tahun Shaggydog”, Gudskul Ekosistem Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2022), “Photo Bangkok 2015”, International Photo Festival, BACC, Bangkok (2015), and many more. He also received awards from Redbase Foundation, Yogyakarta Indonesia at 2016. He also took part in several residencies such as, Pesanggrahan Bumi Pemuda Rahayu, Yogyakarta , Indonesia in 2014 and Pasang Air #1, Cemeti Art House, Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 2015.
