Born in China, currently lives and works in Brisbane. Paul Bai poses a consistent interest in the notion of space throughout his practice; by adopting the tradition of conceptual art, he intends to demonstrate a third spatial instance that can be regarded as conceptual, physical also experiential. Since 1995, he has exhibited at local, national and international levels, including Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Gallery 4A, Pestorius Sweeney House, Art Forum Berlin, Spring 1883, Sydney Contemporary, Institute of Modern Art, Singapore Art Museum, Yuill/Crowley Gallery, Sarah Cottier Gallery, University of Queensland Art Museum, Monash University Museum of Art, UTS Gallery, NAS Gallery, OCAT–Shanghai Contemporary Art Terminal, Guangdong Art Museum, Griffith University Art Museum, VANDENHOVE Centre – University of Ghent.
