Argya Dhyaksa was born in 1991, Jakarta, Indonesia. He graduated from the Bandung Institute of Technology, majoring in Ceramic Craft.
Dhyaksa's artistic practice is rooted in a self described ‘spamming’ philosophy his ceramic works often appear random yet are charged with playful whimsical, and subtly cynical undertones. He creates sculptural objects that embrace rawness, surreal forms, and unpolished finishes, presenting an intentionally disordered aesthetic. Through this approach, Dhyaksa explores the tension between chaos and intention, humor and critique, while maintaining a tactile and personal connection to material.
Dhyaksa has been participating in various art exhibitions like; “A-T, The Journey 1” Group Exhibition at Redbase Foundation, “Redefining Chapter” Group Exhibition at Redbase Foundation, “Neglected Ordinaries” Group Exhibition at Redbase Foundation, and “Neglected Ordinaries Jakarta” Group Exhibition at Redbase Foundation.
His group exhibitions include at the National Gallery of Indonesia, Jakarta, and Art Central HK at the RedBase Foundation, Hong Kong.
We pay our respects to the Gundungurra people who are the traditional custodians of the land. We acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging for their immense spiritual connection to place which was never ceded.
